Finding the sim rooms

From the main entrance

  1. From the front of the hospital, at the top of Parkfield Drive, use the entrance on the far right into the Queens Building, under the covered brick shelter. Look for the brown and grey sign: “Queens Building: Entrance, Pedestrian Access to All Buildings”. If you enter the emergency department waiting room you have taken the wrong entrance.
  2. Follow the corridor straight ahead for approximately 100 metres, then take the stairs or lift to the first floor.
  3. On the first floor, turn left from the lifts or right from the stairs. Follow the white corridor, with pictures and artwork to the concourse with M&S Food and the coffee shop.
  4. Turn right. The Academy is on your right, down three steps or a small slope.

If you enter the Old Building or Jubilee Building, you have gone too far.

From Cedars multi-storey car park

  1. Leave the car park on foot (stairs or lift). Cross the zebra crossing and follow signs towards the main hospital site, down a short slope to the ground-floor entrance of the Duchess Building.
  2. Continue straight along the ground-floor corridor, which has green and white walls. At the end, the corridor bends left through the Queens Building, where the walls are brick.
  3. Continue as the corridor bends left and then straight ahead, past the back of the emergency department. At the end, take the stairs or lifts on your left to the first floor.
  4. On the first floor, turn left from the lifts or right from the stairs. Follow the white corridor, with pictures and artwork to the concourse with M&S Food and the coffee shop.
  5. Turn right. The Academy is on your right, down three steps or a small slope.

If you enter the Old Building or Jubilee Building, you have gone too far.

Car parking

Due to the location, parking is very challenging in the Bristol City Centre. There is no available parking at the simulation centre. If you are parking, use a public or hospital visitor car park near the hospital. Do not park in staff-only car parks.

Check the payment arrangements: some car parks are pay and display; others use Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and require payment before you leave.

Whole-day parking is approximately £20 (October 2026).
